UCEE Microfinance Bank, a subsidiary of United Capital Plc, is marking its first anniversary with the launch of a ₦50 million Solar Energy Loan designed to make clean, reliable power more affordable and accessible to Nigerians.
As part of its ongoing efforts in Green Finance, UCEE has introduced the Solar Energy Loan to address the affordability barrier to clean energy access. The product offers flexible payment plans for solar installations, enabling individuals and businesses to access uninterrupted power while spreading payments over time. With a simple onboarding process and minimal paperwork, the product is built for speed, ease, and convenience.
Esther Adeola-Balogun, Managing Director/CEO of UCEE Microfinance Bank described the product as a timely, people-centred solution that responds to Nigeria’s energy and economic realities.
“At UCEE, our priority has always been the welfare and progress of the people we serve. Since we launched last year, we have been intentional about designing products that make everyday life easier, from high-yield savings to flexible loans. The Solar Energy Loan reflects that same commitment. We are providing households and businesses with affordable access to reliable power so they can focus on growth. It is our way of saying: we see you, and we are here for you.”
Since its launch in 2024, UCEE Microfinance Bank has redefined how financial services fit into people’s daily lives by introducing customer-centric products that address real needs. In just one year, the bank has rolled out savings plans with returns of up to 20%, Back-to-School Loans to ease education expenses for parents, and SME loans of up to ₦50 million to fuel entrepreneurship. UCEE’s digital app has also become a trusted partner in daily money management, offering free transfers and more payment merchants to its growing suite of financial services.
As UCEE looks to the future, it plans to expand its footprint with more innovative products, additional service channels, and deeper digital integration to ensure even greater access for individuals, families, and businesses across Nigeria. The introduction of the Solar Energy Loan is only the beginning of a broader journey to drive financial inclusion and sustainable development in the years ahead. The introduction of the Solar Energy Loan marks the first of several initiatives planned as UCEE expands its presence in the green finance space.
